Floyd the cat

3

Our cat Floyd is past his 3 year mark as a cancer survivor.  I encourage anyone who can afford an amputation to save a pet to do it. Every day is a gift. After surgery, we adopted Evelyn, who he loves to play and snuggle with.

  2. Floyd and Evelyn, you are BOTH adorable!!

And Floyd, we love celebrating victories around here!! 🙂 Three years! WOW!!

What kind did Floyd have? Did you do any specific follow up treatment other than the amputation itself?

Thank you for sharing this Miracle Cat with us! Floyd gives so much hope to any cat or dog on this journey!

Keep these great victories coming Floyd! 🙂

    Hugs to all!

  3. AAwwww YAAAY! Thank you for the great photos and wise words, you really know how to show the world that life on 3 is great. Congrats on the 3 year ampuversary/diagnosis, that’s pawesome!

  4. Thanks. Floyd had bone cancer in his leg. We took him to OSU Vet Hospital for an orthopedic visit. They spent all day with him and gave us a hard to hear verdict at the end of the day.
We had just lost our 18 year old cat, Alice, a month before Floyd’s diagnosis.
We were not willing to loose him too.
We were extremely lucky that it was caught before it could spread. Recovery was not fun for us, but he did great.
We added stools for him to use to increase his access to furniture. He learned to jump again with just one hind leg. Not graceful, but effective.
Since he was lonely, we adopted Evelyn from a shelter about a month after the surgery.
They are great partners in crime and love each other.

    We are so lucky!
